Roadmap of course material for Precision Mechatronic Engineers

The Dutch Society for Precision Engineering (DSPE) has developed a roadmap with existing and to be developed course material; has set up a curriculum and will assure the level of quality. Existing courses are nominated as candidate courses that might be integrated in the DSPE certification program for Precision Mechatronic Engineer after evaluation by the DSPE certification program committee and approval of a qualified academic professor.

Certified Program
To obtain a certificate and title Certified Precision Mechatronic engineer, one should have followed 9 postgraduate courses. The selection of courses within the program need to cover the competences for Precision Mechatronic Engineer.

Courses
(Candidate) courses are categorized in:

  • 4 Basic mandatory courses
  • 3 Specialization courses
  • 2 Expert courses

 

Competences:

The Certified Precision Engineer (CPT-Mechatronics) masters designing:

1. (sub-) systems by means of an integrated approach, both individually as in multidisciplinary teams

2. (sub-) systems that meet requirements with respect to specific accuracy and dynamics

3. drive trains with integrated control

 

Course selection:

1. anyone can submit a candidate course (submit a candidate course for certification)

2. candidate courses are listed in this table when approved by the "DSPE program board certification"

3. candidate courses will only be accepted if there is sufficient demand in the market

4. candidate courses become "DSPE certified courses" whith the approval of a qualified academic professor
